Introduction: We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a leading travel organisation based in Birmingham. This is a truly varied role and needs a team player who will adapt and grow with the department. With a keen eye for process, you will be assisting the Head of Finance in the development of the department, gained through the experience of being involved in supporting the transactional roles.

The main purpose of the role is to oversee the accounts department and be involved in the preparation of management accounts and end of year statutory audit pack for external auditors. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all accounts functions are undertaken in a timely manner in accordance with the rota which is prepared and overseen by you.
Previous experience in a similar position is essential for the role and in return, our client can offer a competitive salary up to £45k and excellent benefits. Please note, this is a fully office-based role.

Role of Finance Manager:
- Preparation of management accounts to target 10 working days
- Preparation of audit pack for statutory auditors within 3 months of year end
- Full balance sheet reconciliations
- Weekly Cashflow
- Forecast Analysis of management accounts for board
- Reporting to board on variances in management information
- Management of accounts team members VAT returns
- Oversee staff travel account for Directors
- Overseeing all daily, weekly and monthly tasks for the department and ensuring timely completion
- Mentoring of assistants within the department to further their career and develop their skills
Skills required for the role:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Finance Manager role
- Strong leadership/ team management & development experience
- Experience of preparation of management accounts
- Hands on approach
- Budgeting and analysis experience
- Able to communicate and present at Director level
- Excel experience
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
