We have a brand new, fabulous opportunity for a commercially focused, luxury travel specialist to join an award winning cruise company as a Luxury Cruise Commercial & Trading Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing growth plans and strengthening relationships with cruise line partners, creating opportunity, negotiating exclusive offers across nett, retail and exploring new routes to market.

The role will include both destination based packaging & retail product and keeping a constant open channel of communication with suppliers will be key. Day to day trading will also be an intrinsic part of the role and involve acting quickly and efficiently and communication will underpin all aspects of the position and will be a fundamental part of the role.

Previous experience gained within a similar role is essential for the position, along with an understanding of the luxury cruise sector.

In return our client can offer a highly competitive salary, plus bonus & excellent benefits. This is a Monday – Friday role and will be largely remote, with regular visits to head office based in Redditch, so willingness to do this is essential.

Role of Luxury Cruise Trading & Commercial Executive:

Be the face for Luxury & Expedition for the business
Develop a focused strategy and marketing plans for the luxury cruise lines and execute them on time
Measuring marketing activity performance in line with executed plans and sales performance
Develop and follow a regular contact strategy with cruise lines
Identify and develop new opportunities for the business
Be aware and communicate all campaign and launch plans to the business
Coordinate weekly trading calls, monthly meeting and be aware of & act on market rate movements
Be aware of how brands are being represented across all platforms
Negotiate and circulate retail and nett rates for package product
Develop package product and market across all platforms
Select the best deals from the brands that you look after to go into marketing activity
Communicating clearly through email and direct mail briefs to the Product Operations team
Signing off marketing activity
Keeping up to date reporting for your brands including weekly, monthly and yearly figures
Identifying new growth areas
Tracking targeted and override numbers and recommending actions to achieve these
Own the Luxury event strategy from conception to execution

Skills required for the role:

Previous experience in the luxury cruise / expedition market
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities
A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver results
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence working across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Despite being out of the industry for 4 years (thanks to COVID) we talked this through and she felt I was a strong candidate for the role. I contacted Succeed after seeing a vacancy that was of interest.

Cheryl picked up my CV on the Monday morning and called me first thing, after a brief chat about some of the opportunities available we decided to send of a couple of applications.

Cheryl then contacted me again on Tuesday with another vacancy (that don’t come up very often) that ticked all the boxes, by afternoon had secured an interview for me on the Thursday. The following Tuesday Cheryl calls with a job offer. One week from start to finish!

I took a 7 year hiatus from the Travel industry to develop my skills in a completely different role. Unfortunately, that came to an abrupt end through to insolvency and it knocked me sideways as I was climbing the career ladder.
