We're looking for a passionate and commercially minded River Cruise Commercial & Trading Executive to take ownership of our multiple award-winning client’s growing river cruise sector. This is an exciting role for someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, negotiating exclusive deals, and driving commercial performance.
You'll work directly with river cruise line partners to develop growth strategies, create compelling products and packages, and increase brand visibility. Combining commercial trading, marketing planning, and supplier management, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client’s river cruise business.
Working alongside the Trading Director and Head of Commercial & Planning, you'll help shape commercial strategies, develop exclusive offers, and create impactful marketing campaigns that drive growth across our cruise portfolio. As the supplier-facing ambassadors of the brand, the team represents the business at industry events, meetings, and key trade partnerships.
Previous experience in a similar commercial role within the river cruise / cruise sector is required for the role, along with strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
In return our client can offer a highly competitive salary, plus excellent benefits. This is a Monday – Friday role and will be remote, with regular visits to head office.

Role of River Cruise Commercial & Trading Executive
- Act as the primary commercial contact for river cruise partners across the brand.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key suppliers through regular engagement and strategic collaboration.
- Develop and execute targeted marketing and growth plans that drive sales and partner success.
- Negotiate exclusive offers, competitive rates, and innovative package products.
- Identify new routes to market and uncover fresh commercial opportunities.
- Monitor trading performance and respond quickly to market trends and rate movements.
- Select and promote the strongest offers for inclusion in marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate closely with Product Operations and wider business teams to deliver successful campaigns.
- Ensure river cruise brands are effectively represented across all customer touchpoints.
- Analyse campaign performance and sales results, using insights to optimise future activity.
- Manage weekly trading calls and monthly supplier meetings.
- Produce regular performance reports and track key commercial targets.
- Identify growth opportunities and recommend strategies to maximise performance.
- Lead the planning and delivery of river cruising events from concept through to execution.
- Communicate effectively across the business to ensure alignment on launches, campaigns, and commercial priorities.
Skills required for the role:
- Previous experience in the river cruise / cruise market.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver results.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence working across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
