Our client’s ideal candidate will have product experience gained within the travel sector, however they’re also willing to consider candidates from other areas of the travel sector – sales or operations for example, looking for their first step into a product role.

Role of Product Executive:
- Contracting – negotiate competitive rates and commercial terms for tours, hotels and ground products to ensure our client remains competitive, whilst achieving margin targets.
- Copywriting and content – deliver accurate and inspiring web copy and imagery for your product range.
- Competitor analysis – carry out regular analysis of competitor activity and product ranges and take appropriate action to ensure our client's product range remains competitive.
- Health and Safety – assist in the coordination of initial health and safety checks with suppliers and work closely with the Operations department to ensure continued compliance.
- Quality – ensure product range meets quality standards and assist the Customer Service department in resolving complaints by address issues with suppliers.
- Product optimisation – amend and update products, content, pricing and inventory as required to ensure quality and margins are maximised.
- Relationship management – build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and trade partners, including attendance at trade fairs, supplier meetings and occasional familiarisation trips as and when required.
- Product loading – responsibility for the accurate and timely loading of product and rates within the selling and content systems.
- Marketing – liaise closely with the Marketing team to ensure adequate and accurate promotion and representation of product.
- Occasional business travel, which may involve travelling over a weekend, in both the UK and overseas.
Skills required for the role:
- Relevant experience in a similar role within the travel industry
- A methodical and conscientious approach to tasks with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially-minded, ability to recognise a commercial opportunity and assertive negotiating skills
- Positive and motivated with a can-do attitude
- Competency using Excel and aptitude to learn new systems
- The desire to achieve and to contribute to team goals
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the leisure holiday market
- Clear and effective communicator both written and verbal
- Content writing experience would be desirable, however strong literacy skills are key
