Our client is a multiple award-winning, travel industry market leader who are currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Assistant Sales Manager to join their Birmingham based travel sales team.
The successful candidate will assist the Sales Manager in leading the sales team, developing strategies to increase sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role involves supporting daily sales operations, training sales staff, and contributing to the overall success of the sales department.
Previous experience within a similar team leader / assistant manager role within the travel sector is essential for the role, along with thorough knowledge and understanding of the worldwide leisure holiday market.

Role of Assistant Sales Manager:
- Assist the Sales Manager in managing the sales team, including setting sales targets and monitoring performance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of sales strategies and plans.
- Support sales representatives in achieving their sales goals through guidance and coaching.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and clients.
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new sales staff.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Monitor sales metrics and analyse sales performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to the Sales Manager and senior management.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop action plans based on sales data and market insights.
- Assist in the coordination of sales activities and promotional campaigns.
Skills required for the role:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the leisure holiday market
- Relevant experience in a similar role within the travel industry
- Commercially minded, ability to recognise a commercial opportunity or risk
- Competency using Excel and aptitude to learn new systems
- Positive and motivated with a can-do attitude
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Clear and effective communicator both written and verbal
- Expérience in managing teams, and a stong trainer/coach and mentor
