Are you looking for your first step into the travel sector?! If so, we have a fantastic opportunity available for a detail orientated candidate to join a specialist Tour Operator based in Loughton, Essex as a Despatch Agent.

Established for 40 years, our client pride themselves on offering the best services to Travel Agents who require their product expertise to create high end, tailor made travel arrangements covering the USA, Canada and other Worldwide destinations. They’re now looking for a Despatch agent to join their Operations team, whose responsibility will include contacting suppliers and making final checks to a holiday booking before sending out the documents within a specific timescale.

Full training can be provided and this role will suit a recent school or college leaver, looking for their first step into the travel sector.

Our client can offer hybrid working, split between home and office, in addition to a competitive starting salary and an excellent benefits package including 28 days paid holiday (inc. Bank holidays) rising to 33 for long service, ongoing training, pension, medical insurance, free lunches and team nights out as well as holiday concessions and incentives, with no late nights or Sunday working! Role of Despatch Agent:

Contacting and liaising with suppliers.
Making final checks to a holiday booking ro ensure all details are correct.
Sending out travel documents within a specific timescale.
Providing administration support where required.

Skills required for the role:

Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to multitask including the ability to manage a busy mailbox and task list
Work well in a team
Excellent attention to detail
Familiar with IT programs such as Excel and Word
Previous experience with dealing with customers
A genuine interest in developing a career within the travel sector

I took a 7 year hiatus from the Travel industry to develop my skills in a completely different role. Unfortunately, that came to an abrupt end through to insolvency and it knocked me sideways as I was climbing the career ladder.

Decided to explore the option of getting back into the travel industry as I’ve got 17 years of specialist experience within the luxury tailored holidays and cruise sectors.
